Ambrose Cottage is peacefully located on a hill with panoramic country and mountain views. This well presented cottage is the ideal base for exploring County Mayo as well as providing a home away from home. It is just 5 kms from Westport, with two golf courses (9 & 18 holes) on the way. The location between the Atlantic waters of Clew Bay and the mountains of the Nephin range offers an amazing choice of other activities - from Beaches, Walking, Hiking, Cycling, Kayaking, Sailing, Fishing to Horse riding - to name just a few.

A couple of minutes from the Wild Atlantic Way it is less than an hour’s drive from the holiday home to Ireland's largest island, Achill, and to the wild romantic scenic beauty of Connemara. The Western Greenway, the best cycle route in Ireland leading along a former railway track from Westport to Achill Island, is passing near the house as are cycle loops out of Westport. Bicycles are available on the property and can also be rented in Westport or Newport.

The cottage offers a tastefully decorated living area with open fire place and a well-equipped kitchen area with dining area and another cosy solid fuel stove. The property benefits from four bedrooms to sleep up to 10 people. One bedroom is ensuite on the ground floor, the other three bedrooms (one ensuite) are upstairs with a separate bathroom. A cot and a toddler bed can be provided if required. Our second cottage Mountain View Cottage is located just beside Ambrose Cottage and is ideal for couples and small families. Parties up to 12 people can be accommodated in the both houses together!

Opening the front door you are greeted with views over the mountains in the distance, and children can play safely on the large front enclosed garden.
